Auditions for We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Gretna Little Theatre announces auditions for the May production, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, by Hugh Wheeler, adapted from the novel by Shirley Jackson.

Auditions will be held for three women, two men, and a young girl, and young boy.

A suspenseful play that takes place in a Victorian kitchen with secrets slowly exposed during the action, it has vague references to the Lizzie Borden case of long ago.

The piece is supported by the setting, a lonely Victorian house, with worn remnants of family wealth, and mysterious shame. The house is a major player in the plot.  GLT is specifically recruiting set designers and builders to join in the production.

Auditions are March 24, 25, at 7:00 at the Gretna Center for the Arts. Actors will be asked to read from script, no monologues required.  Designers and builders may attend to ask questions, and view our inventory of set pieces.

Janina Shoemaker directs.  Production crew also needed.  Performances scheduled for May 16-18.  For more information, please call 434-656-3637.
