Rikki Tikki Tavi

     Gretna Little Theatre will present Rudyard Kipling’s Rikki Tikki Tavi June 26 at 7:30 p.m., and June 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Gretna Center for the Arts, 101 Main Street.
The title character, the mongoose, is played by Cordaris Miller. Others in the cast are Abby Converse as Teddi, Michael and Ashlee Kopczenski as the parents, Joseph Kopczenski as Kurait, the little snake, Madison Hedrick as Darzina, the tailor bird, and Rebecca Craddock as Nagaina, the cobra. Alexander Stracke is stage manager.
     This is a theatre workshop for children to learn about theatre production including acting and set construction; they have spent several weeks building the jungle garden setting under the direction of Charles Converse. Their acting skills have been polished with Janina Shoemaker, artistic director.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Reservations suggested due to limited seating. Call 434 656 3637 and leave name, number of tickets, which performance, and your phone number. Proceeds benefit upgrading the Center’s bathrooms. Workshop made possible by a grant from the Womack Foundation.
