GREATEST GENERATION

If you have a love for “oldies but goodies”, join us for the Greatest Generation during Patriot’s Day weekend at the Gretna Center for the Arts. This musical re...vue is scheduled for September 9 – 11, and the performing artists include many of your GLT favorites. The songs were hits during the 1940’s, and many are still popular. Our goal is 40 of the best, gathered from all categories, from Broadway and the Silver Screen, Country Western, World War II related, even Novelty Tunes .The roster of popular 40s artists is the length of the piano keyboard, and we hope to “channel” a singer or more from the Hit Parade. We also plan to have a few of the groups represented. The musical arrangements backing our singers are from the Big Bands of the time faithfully digitized. Plan now to attend this “spectacular tribute” to and for The Greatest Generation. Collaboration directors are Carol Cundiff, Janina Shoemaker, Brenda Velarde and John Wilt. Tickets: General Admission, $15, Special (students, seniors, veterans) $10. Limited seating, reservations strongly recommended. Call 540 423 2686 or email sueilconich@yahoo.com
